J 24319-B Universal Steering Linkage Puller

1. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Remove the adjustment link retaining nut.



3. Using J 24319-B separate the adjustment link from the lower control arm.
4. Using a block of wood and a suitable jack, support the exhaust and rear support.



5. Remove the exhaust hangers.



6. Remove the rear support mounting bolts and lower the rear support and exhaust system together.



7. Remove the cam bolt and nut.
8. Remove the adjustment link from the rear support.

1. Install the adjustment link to the rear support.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the cam bolt, washer and nut.

Tighten
Tighten the cam nut to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).

3. Install the adjustment link to the lower control arm.
4. Install the adjustment link retaining nut.

Tighten
Tighten the adjustment link retaining nut to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).




5. Raise the rear support and exhaust system.
6. Install the rear support mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the rear support mounting bolts to 191 N·m (141 lb ft).




7. Install the exhaust hangers.
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Check rear toe adjustment. Refer to Rear Toe Adjustment in Wheel Alignment.
