3.6 4.6 LH2 LY7 Engine - DTC P0171 - kw code ECM loose oil cap

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

Some 2004 Cadillacs with 4.6L (LH2) engine and SRX with 4.6L (LH2) or 3.6 ( LY7) engine may set a DTC P0171.

If you have determined this vehicle has the concern of a DTC P0171 and you have completed the published diagnostics with no resolution, check and correct for a missing or loose engine oil fill cap.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
