On May 24, 2004 we will start an Engineering Investigation on the electronic powertrain control module (PCM) for the Cadillac XLR and SRX with the V8 Northstar engine. This only involves one part number for both vehicles. This will be for a very limited time and we are looking to gather some very specific information for engineering analysis.
The restricted part number for this module is 12576523.
The PQC will be asking your technicians to tell us what diagnostic information they used, what readings they took and what was the value of that reading. They may also ask the technician to do some tests or take some readings our of the normal diagnostic process. We will be allowing additional time for the technician if we ask them to do anything above and beyond what is considered the normal diagnostic procedure.
Even if you have the specific module in inventory, please have the technician contact the PQC at 1-866-654-7654 before they replace it.
