Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine off.
2. Adjust the head up display (HUD) UP, then DOWN.

Does the HUD display adjust properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 3

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the HUD display connector.
3. Connect a test lamp between the HUD display up circuit and B+ at the instrument panel cluster (IPC). Refer to Circuit Testing .
4. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
5. Move the HUD up/down switch to the up position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

1. Connect a test lamp between the HUD display down circuit and B+ at the IPC. Refer to Circuit Testing .
2. Move the HUD up/down switch to the DOWN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

Test the HUD display up circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Test the HUD display down circuit for the following:

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Test the HUD display switch down circuit for an open or high resistance at the HUD switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Test the HUD display up circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Test the HUD display up circuit for an open or high resistance at the HUD switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 15

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the HUD dimmer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the HUD dimmer switch. Refer to Head Up Display Switch Replacement .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the HUD display. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the HUD display. Refer to Instrument Cluster Head Up Display Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
