Backup Lamp Replacement Oldsmobile

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the tail lamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 329507  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  4. Remove the bulb from the socket.
  5. Twist the bulb and pull outward.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 329507  Size: SH
  1. Install the bulb.
  2. Push the bulb inward and twist until the bulb retained.

  3. Connect the electrical connector.
  4. Install the tail lamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement .

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the tail lamp. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 329538  Size: SH
  3. Remove the socket from the lamp assembly.
  4. Twist the socket and pull outward.

  5. Remove the bulb.
  6. Twist the bulb and pull outward.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 329538  Size: SH
  1. Install the bulb.
  2. Push the bulb inward and twist until the bulb is retained.

  3. Install the socket to the lamp assembly.
  4. Push the socket inward and twist until the socket is retained.

  5. Install the tail lamps. Refer to Tail Lamp Replacement .

Backup Lamp Replacement Grand Am

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 480195  Size: SH
  1. Remove secondary backup lite retaining nuts.
  2. Remove secondary backup lite assembly.
  3. Push secondary backup lite assembly outward from rear fascia.

  4. Object Number: 480172  Size: SH
  5. Remove the socket.
  6. Twist socket and pull outward.

  7. Remove the bulb.
  8. Twist the bulb and pull outward.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the bulb.
  2. Push the bulb inward and twist the bulb until the unit is retained.

  3. Install the socket.
  4. Push the socket inward and twist until the unit is retained.

  5. Install the secondary backup lite to the rear fascia.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the secondary backup lite retaining nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the secondary backup lite retaining nuts to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
