J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator

1. Remove the wiper arm assemblies from the wiper transmission assembly drive shafts. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
2. Remove the air inlet grille panel from the vehicle. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
3. Remove the connector from the wiper motor assembly.
4. Remove 3 screws and the wiper drive system module from the vehicle.



5. Remove the wiper transmission assembly from the wiper motor crank arm using J 39232 .



6. Remove the cap from the wiper transmission assembly.
7. Remove 4 screws and the wiper transmission assembly from the tube frame.
8. Remove 3 grommets from the tube frame and from the wiper transmission assembly.
9. Remove the wiper motor assembly from the tube frame. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .

Tools Required

J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

1. Install 3 grommets onto the tube frame and the wiper transmission assembly.
2. Install the wiper motor assembly onto the tube frame. Refer to Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement .
3. Install the wiper transmission assembly onto the tube frame with 4 crews.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (79 lb in).

4. Install the cap onto the wiper transmission assembly.



5. Install the wiper transmission onto the wiper motor crank arm assembly using the J 39529 .



6. Install the wiper drive system module onto the vehicle with 3 crews.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (79 lb in).

7. Install the connector onto the wiper motor assembly.
8. Install the air inlet grill panel onto the vehicle. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
9. Install the wiper arm assemblies onto the wiper transmission assembly drive shafts. Refer to Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement .
10. Operate the wipers and check for proper operation.
