The remote
control door lock receiver system allows the driver to perform the following
functions by use of a handheld transmitter:
• | Release the rear compartment lid |
The range of the transmitter is approximately 7 meters (23 ft).
If the transmitter range becomes less than 7 meters (23 ft),
you may need to replace the battery. Refer to
Transmitter Battery Replacement
. The maximum range of the transmitter
depends on the ambient conditions and other operating parameters.
The following conditions may occur due to interference from anonymous
radio signal transmissions:
• | The range of the transmitter may decrease from the normal range. |
• | The receiver may not operate. |
Attach the door lock key (oval head) to the ring on the transmitter,
if needed.
When the driver door or the rear compartment lid is unlocked by using
the transmitter, the interior lamps turn on. The lamps remain on for approximately
40 seconds or until the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position.
This GM vehicle does not have door ajar switches. A switch that is mounted
on the door handle controls the interior lamps. The body control module (BCM)
controls the interior lamps when you press the unlock or the rear compartment
lid button on the transmitter.
The serial data transmits on a radio frequency carrier signal at 315 MHz
from the transmitter to the remote control door lock receiver when you press
1 of the following buttons on the transmitter:
• | Rear compartment lid release |
The transmitter is resistant to the following conditions:
• | Moderate temperature changes |
• | Most common household fluids |
• | Most common automotive fluids |
