Interior windnoise will not be heard while the window is lowered. Interior windnoise is caused by air leaving the inside of the vehicle through a seal or seam.

Complete the following steps in order to locate the source of the windnoise:

  1. Tape off the pressure relief valve(s). This will cause the air pressure to build-up inside the vehicle and enhance the windnoise.
  2. Test drive the vehicle.
  3. Listen for a windnoise whistle.
  4. Temporarily repair the condition using 51 mm (2 in) masking tape.
  5. If you are unable to determine the source of the interior windnoise, perform one or more of the following diagnostic tests:
    •  Tracing Powder or Chalk Test
    •  Air Pressure Test
    •  Soap Suds or Bubble Test
