Removal Procedure
Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent
surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Raise the hood.
- Tape the edges of the fender in order to protect the fender from
scratching.
- Remove the front wheelhouse panel splash shield. Refer to
Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement
.
- Remove the front wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to
Filler Panel Replacement - Wheelhouse Rear
.
- Remove the bumper fascia from the front fender. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
- Remove the front fender
front brace bolt.
- Remove the front fender
rear center bracket from the front fender bolt.
- Remove the front fender
lower retaining bolts.
- Remove the front fender
upper retaining bolts.
- Remove the front fender.
Installation Procedure
- Install the front fender.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the front
fender upper retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the front fender
lower retaining bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
- Install the front fender
rear center bracket to the front fender bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the front fender
front brace bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the bumper fascia to the front fender. Refer to
Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
.
- Install the front wheelhouse panel liner. Refer to
Filler Panel Replacement - Wheelhouse Rear
.
- Install the front wheelhouse panel splash shield. Refer to
Wheelhouse Splash Shield Replacement
.
- Remove the tape from the edges of the fender.
- Close the hood.
