Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 280460  Size: SH

    Important: Securely latch the seat back (1) in the full forward position before removal. Use the following procedure:

    1. Lift up on the recliner handle in order to move the seat back to the full forward position. This action will release the recliner.
    2. Pull back on the seat back without lifting the handle. The recliner will latch the seat back into the full forward position.

  1. Remove the seat back recliner handle.
  2. Remove the seat cushion outer trim panel.
  3. Remove the front seat cushion cover J-retainers.
  4. Lift the front seat cushion cover in order to access the following components:
  5. • The recliner cable (2)
    • The retaining screw (4)
  6. Remove the recliner cable retaining screw (4) from the outboard recliner (5).

Installation Procedure

    Important: Do NOT apply excessive force in order to remove the slack. This action may partially unlatch the inboard recliner.

  1. Pull rearward on the cable casing in order to remove the cable slack.

  2. Object Number: 280460  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the recliner cable retaining screw (4).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  5. Install the front seat cushion cover J-retainers.
  6. Install the seat cushion outer trim panel.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).

  8. Install the seat back recliner handle.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1 N·m (9 lb in).
