Circuit Description

The RKE module performs this test any time the module processes a message from a transmitter.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The module will set this DTC if the module receives a transmission from an unsynchronized transmitter.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The module stores a DTC B3108 in the RKE current memory.

No driver warning message will be displayed for this DTC.

Conditions for Clearing the MIL/DTC

The RKE module will clear this DTC after a valid transmission is received from a transmitter.

Diagnostic Aids

This DTC will stay in memory as current until it receives a valid transmission from the RKE transmitters. The DTC remains in the history until it is cleared. Obtain all of the transmitters from the customer and synchronize the transmitters.

Was the Remote Keyless Entry Diagnostic System Check performed?

Go to Step  2

Refer to Remote Keyless Entry System Check .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Clear any DTCs.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Is the DTC still present?

Go to Step  3

Go to Remote Keyless Entry System Check .

Replace the Remote Keyless Entry module. Refer to Receiver Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 4

Resynchronize the keyless entry transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Synchronization .

Are all of the DTCs cleared?

Go to Remote Keyless Entry System Check .
