Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 372176 Size: SH

Important: To prevent leakage, thoroughly clean all parts and sealing surfaces.

  1. Install the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler mounting bracket to the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the attaching bolts.
  4. Tighten
Tighten oil filter assembly/fluid cooler bracket bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  5. Position the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler in the vehicle.
  6. Install the bolts attaching the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler mounting bracket to the radiator support.
  7. Tighten
Tighten oil filter assembly/fluid cooler bolts to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  8. Connect the transmission oil cooler lines to the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler. Refer to Oil Cooler Lines Replacement in Automatic Transmission-4L60-E.
  9. Connect the engine oil cooler lines to the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler. Refer to Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe Replacement Engine Oil Cooler Line Replacement.
  10. Connect the water pump inlet hose to the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement Radiator Hose Replacement.
  11. Connect the (lower) radiator outlet hose to the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement Radiator Hose Replacement.
  12. Lower vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  13. Install the radiator air intake baffle. Refer to Radiator Air Intake Baffle in Body Front End.
  14. Fill the cooling system with specified coolant and concentration. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling Draining and Filling Cooling System.
  15. Inspect all sealing surfaces of the oil filter assembly/fluid cooler for leaks after starting the engine.
