Caution: When you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, you must disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause air bag deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.
4.1. | Tilt the upper steering column trim cover upward. |
4.2. | Slide the upper steering column trim cover rearward to disengage the locking tabs. |
1.1. | Match the locking tabs on the upper steering column trim cover with the tab slots on the lower steering column trim cover |
1.2. | Lower the upper steering column trim cover. |
1.3. | Slide the upper steering column trim cover forward until the locking tabs snap into the tab slots. |
