  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Select BCM DTC with the scan tool.
  4. Inspect for any stored DTCs that may affect the serial data line communication.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  6. Remove the scan tool.

No DTCs are stored in memory.

Go to applicable DTC table

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the IP dimmer switch to the HIGH position.
  3. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.

The following illumination lamps turn ON inside the passenger compartment:

    • The radio faceplate lamp
    • The instrument cluster lamps
    • The climate control faceplate lamp
    • The hazard switch lamp
    • The headlamp leveling switch lamp (UK/S. Africa)
    • The PRNDL lamp
    • The transfer case select switch lamp
    • The rear wiper/washer and endgate window release switch lamp
    • The driver information center lamp
    • The outside rear view folding mirror switch lamp
    • The door lock and side window switch (LH/RH) lamp
    • The side window lockout switch lamp
    • The IP ashtray lamp
    • The radio faceplate lamp inoperative
    • The instrument cluster lamps inoperative
    • The climate control faceplate lamp inoperative
    • The hazard switch lamp inoperative
    • The headlamp leveling switch lamp (UK/S. Africa) inoperative
    • The PRNDL lamp inoperative
    • The transfer case select switch lamp inoperative
    • The rear wiper/washer and endgate window release switch lamp inoperative
    • The driver information center lamp inoperative
    • The outside rear view folding mirror switch lamp inoperative
    • The door lock and side window switch (LH/RH) lamp inoperative
    • The side window lockout switch lamp inoperative
    • The IP ashtray lamp inoperative

  1. Turn the IP dimmer switch slowly to the LOW position.
  2. Return the IP dimmer switch to the HIGH position.
    • The brightness of the following lamps slowly decreases:
       - The radio faceplate lamp
       - The instrument cluster lamps
       - The climate control faceplate lamp
       - The hazard switch lamp
       - The headlamp leveling switch lamp (UK/S. Africa)
       - The PRNDL lamp
       - The transfer case select switch lamp
       - The rear wiper/washer and endgate window release switch lamp
       - The driver information center lamp
    • The brightness of the following lamps slowly increases:
       - The radio faceplate lamp
       - The instrument cluster lamps
       - The climate control faceplate lamp
       - The hazard switch lamp
       - The headlamp leveling switch lamp (UK/S. Africa)
       - The PRNDL lamp
       - The transfer case select switch lamp
       - The rear wiper/washer and endgate window release switch lamp
       - The driver information center lamp

Lamps Erratic with Dimmer Switch-Incandescent

Turn the headlamp switch to the OFF position.

All of the lamps mentioned turn OFF.

Any of the lamps mentioned stay ON.
