  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Connect a scan tool.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.
  4. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Turn the park lamps ON.

Do the park lamps function properly?

Remove and inspect the ILLUM fuse.

Is the fuse open?

  1. Locate and repair CKT 1220 (GRY/BLK) for a short to ground.
  2. Replace the fuse.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Ensure the panel dimmer rheostat is at maximum.
  2. Connect a test lamp from fuse to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 11

Connect a test lamp (back probe) from terminal K of the IP dimmer switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 7

Locate and repair CKT 44 (DK GRN) for an open circuit.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp (back probe) from terminal A of the IP dimmer switch to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the IP dimmer switch.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair CKT 74 (LT BLU) for an open circuit between the IP dimmer switch terminal A and terminal M4 of the IP fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster.
  2. Connect a test lamp from terminal B2 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Go to Step 13

Locate and repair CKT 1220 (GRY/BLK) for an open circuit between the instrument cluster connector B2 and the IP fuse block terminal N5.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Interior Lights Dimming System Check

Connect a DMM between ground and teminal B3 and check for continuity.

Do you have continuity?

Go to Step 14

Repair or replace the instrument cluster and/or lights as needed. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair CKT 1850 (BLK) for an open to ground.
