Was the Audible Warnings System Check performed?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Do not start the engine on.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) connected to ground, backprobe the BCM connector C1 cavity B2 on CKT 39.
  3. Measure the voltage.

Is battery voltage measured?

B+

Go to Step 4

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Do not turn the engine on.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) connected to ground, backprobe the BCM connector C1 cavity A1 and cavity B1 on CKT 1850.
  3. Measure the voltage.

Is the voltage measured less than the specified value?

60 mV

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position. Do not turn the engine on.
  2. Using a J 39200 digital multimeter (DMM) connected to ground, backprobe the BCM connector C1 cavity A2 on CKT 1140.
  3. Measure the voltage.

Is battery voltage measured?

B+

Go to Step 6

Inspect the connections at the BCM.

Are the connections in need of repair?

Go to Step 7

Repair the connections at the BCM as necessary.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 39 between the BCM and the IP fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 1850 (BLK) wire between the BCM and ground G200/G201.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Audible Warnings System Check

Locate and repair the open or high resistance in CKT 1140 (ORN) between the underhood fuse block and the BCM.

Is the repair complete?
