  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Roll down the windows.
  3. Close all doors.
  4. Connect a scan tool.
  5. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  6. Using the scan tool, check for any DTCs in the body control module (BCM).

Does the scan tool show any DTCs?

Depress the RH door lock switch to the lock position.

Do all door locks function?

Depress the RH door lock switch to the unlock position.

Do all door locks unlock?

Does one door lock unlock?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Replace the batteries in the transmitter if the condition is unknown. Refer to transmitter battery replacement.
  3. Depress the lock button then the unlock button on the transmitter.

Do the doors lock then unlock?

  1. Try a known good transmitter.
  2. Using a scan tool, program the transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Programming.
  3. Depress the lock button then the unlock button on the transmitter.

Do the doors lock then unlock?

  1. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver.
  2. Connect a test lamp from terminal 1 to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 1140 (ORN) between the TBC fuse, located in the underhood fuse block and the remote control door lock receiver terminal 1.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a DMM from terminal 4 to ground and check for continuity.

Is there continuity?

--

Locate and repair the open in CKT  451 (BLK/WHT) between the remote control door lock receiver terminal 4 and G105.

Is the repair complete?

Using a J 39200 (DMM), measure the voltage from terminal 2 to ground.

Is the voltage within the value indicated?

Varies 1-10V

Go to Step 16

  1. Disconnect the BCM.
  2. Using a J 39200 (DMM), check the continuity of CKT 461 (ORN).

Is the wire open?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 461 (ORN) between the BCM and the remote control door lock receiver terminal 2.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Replace the remote control door lock receiver. Refer to Receiver Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Replace the transmitter(s).

  1. Reconnect any previously disconnected components.
  2. Using a scan tool, program the transmitter(s). Refer to Transmitter Programming.
