CODE 42 FALSE START-QUICK RESTART

It is possible to store a false Code 42 on 1982 "J" Series. This may happen if a false start occurs and the re-start is accomplished without first turning the ignition switch to the "OFF" position.

When diagnosing for a "Check Engine" light and a Code 42 is found during the system performance check, complete the check. If Code 42 does not reappear, the system is OK and a false Code 42 was set.
