Transmission Control Replacement Floor Shift Control

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 104474  Size: SH
  3. Remove the automatic transmission range select lever cable from the selector lever.

  4. Object Number: 104478  Size: SH
  5. Remove the range select lever cable from the cable bracket.
  6. Remove the center console.

  7. Object Number: 104480  Size: SH
  8. Remove the range select lever cable from the automatic transmission control.
  9. Remove the cable grommet at the cowl.
  10. Remove the cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104480  Size: SH
  1. Install the cable to the vehicle through the cowl and the carpet.
  2. Install the cable grommet in the cowl.
  3. Install the range select lever cable at the automatic transmission control.
  4. Install the center console.

  5. Object Number: 104478  Size: SH
  6. Install the range select lever cable to the cable bracket.

  7. Object Number: 104474  Size: SH
  8. Install the range select lever cable to the selector lever.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
  10. Adjust the cable.
  11. 8.1. Place the shift lever in N (Neutral). Rotate the selector shaft clockwise from P (Park) through R (Reverse) into N (Neutral).
    8.2. Place the shift control assembly in N (Neutral).
    8.3. Push the tab on the cable adjuster in order to adjust the cable in the cable mounting bracket.

  3. Remove the automatic transmission control lever handle.
  4. Remove the console.

  5. Object Number: 104480  Size: SH
  6. Remove the range select lever cable from the automatic transmission control.
  7. Remove the electrical connector.

  8. Object Number: 104495  Size: SH
  9. Remove the automatic transmission control bolts.
  10. Remove the automatic transmission control.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104495  Size: SH
  1. Install the automatic transmission control.
  2. Install the automatic transmission control bolts.
  3. Install the electrical connector.

  4. Object Number: 104480  Size: SH
  5. Install the range select lever cable to the automatic transmission control.
  6. Install the console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

  7. Object Number: 104490  Size: SH
  8. Install the automatic transmission control lever handle.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
