Transmission Mount Replacement Front

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 104328  Size: SH
  3. Install the J 28467-360 to the transmission.

  4. Object Number: 104407  Size: SH
  5. Remove the upper transmission mount assembly bolts.
  6. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  7. Remove the left front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Remove the left front splash shield.

  10. Remove the transmission mount expansion pipe bolt.

  11. Object Number: 104408  Size: SH
  12. Remove the lower transmission mount assembly bolts.

  13. Object Number: 104409  Size: SH
  14. Remove the transmission mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 104409  Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission mount.

  2. Object Number: 104408  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the lower transmission mount bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).

  5. Install the transmission mount expansion plug.
  6. Install the left front splash shield.
  7. Install the left front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Object Number: 104407  Size: SH
  10. Install the upper transmission mount bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 66 N·m (49 lb ft).

  12. Remove the engine support fixture.
  13. Connect the negative battery cable.

Transmission Mount Replacement Rear

Removal Procedure

  3. Install the J 28467-360 to the transmission.

  7. Remove the left front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Removal in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Remove the left front splash shield.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission support.

  6. Install the left front splash shield.
  7. Install the left front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  8. Lower the vehicle.

  9. Object Number: 104331  Size: SH
  10. Install the upper transmission support assembly bolts.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 130 N·m (96 lb ft).

  8. Remove the transmission brace.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the transmission brace.

  2. Object Number: 104360  Size: SH
  3. Install the transmission brace to engine bolts.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application.   6. Tighten

  7. Install the right front splash shield.
  8. Install the right front tire and the wheel assembly. Refer to Wheel Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
