Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect
the negative battery cable.
- Disable the supplemental inflatable restraints (SIR). Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the steering wheel. Refer to
Steering Wheel Replacement
.
- Remove the steering column shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Remove the multifunction switch. Refer to
Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Remove the Torx® head
screw from the windshield wiper switch (2).
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper
switch.
- Remove the windshield wiper switch (2) from the column (6).
Installation Procedure
- Install the windshield
wiper switch (2) to the column (6).
- Connect the electrical connector to the windshield wiper switch (2).
- Install the Torx® head screw to the windshield wiper switch (2).
Tighten
Tighten the screw to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the multifunction switch. Refer to

- Install the steering column shrouds. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement - On Vehicle
.
- Install the steering wheel. Refer to
Steering Wheel Replacement
.
- Enable the SIR system. Refer to
Enabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Ensure that the windshield wiper switch (2) functions properly.
