Assembly Procedure
- Install the bearing and housing assembly.
- Lubricate the pivot pins with lithium grease.
- Install the 2 pivot pins.
- Stake the pivot pins in 3 locations.
- Install the tilt spring. Refer to Tilt Spring - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
- Install the ignition lock housing assembly. Refer to Lock Housing Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
- Install the Ignition switch assembly. Refer to Ignition Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
- Install the upper tilt head components assembly. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
Important: Replace the bearing and housing assembly and the picot pins if the bearing and housing assembly has been staked 3 times.
