  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  2. Turn the mode selector switch to VENT.
  3. Use the test lamp in order to backprobe the heater-A/C and the rear defogger control asembly connector C3 between terminal B and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Go to Step 3

Use the test lamp in order to backprobe the heater-A/C and rear defogger control assembly connector C3 between terminal A and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 5

Repair the open in CKT 41 between the fuse block and the heater-A/C and rear defogger control assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Disconnect the blower motor relay.
  2. Connect the test lamp between terminal 85 of the blower motor relay harness connector and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 7

Replace the heater-A/C rear defogger control assembly.

Connect the test lamp between terminal 85 and terminal 86 of the blower motor relay harness connector.

Did the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 64 between the heater-A/C rear defogger control asembly and the blower motor relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect the test lamp between terminal 30 and terminal 86 of the blower motor relay harness connector.

Did the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 150 between the blower motor relay the ground G112. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a fused jumper between terminal 30 and terminal 87 of the blower motor relay harness connector.

Does the blower motor operate?

Repair the open in CKT 540 between the engine compartment fuse/relay center and the blower motor relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Replace the blower motor relay

  1. Reconnect the blower motor relay.
  2. Disconnect the blower motor connector.
  3. Connect the test lamp between terminal B of the blower motor harness connector and ground.

Did the test lamp light?

Connect the test lamp between terminal A and terminal B of the blower motor harness connector.

Did the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 65 between the blower motor relay and the blower motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the heater-A/C and rear defogger control assembly connector C2.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between the heater-a/c and rear defogger control assembly connector C2 terminal D and the blower motor terminal A.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-2 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 150 between the heater-A/C and rear defogger control assembly and ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Reconnect the blower motor connector.
  2. Disconnect the heater-A/C and rear defogger control assembly connector C2.
  3. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between the heater-a/c and rear defogger control assembly connector C2 terminal E and ground.

Is the resistance within the specified range?

0-2 ohms

Repair the open in CKT 52 between the blower motor and splice 124.
