Temperature Control Cable Replacement Pontiac

Removal Procedure

The temperature control cable is attached to the right of the HVAC module heater case.

  1. Remove the right sound insulator panel.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the module.

  3. Object Number: 302654  Size: MH
  4. Remove the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Remove the heater and A/C control (1). Pull the heater and A/C control rearward.
  6. Disconnect the cable from the heater and A/C control (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the cable to the heater control.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the heater and A/C control to the instrument panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  6. Connect the cable to the module.
  7. Install the right sound insulator panel.

Removal Procedure

The temperature control cable is attached to the right of the HVAC module heater case.

  6. Disconnect the cable from the heater and A/C control (1).
