O-Rings

Important: Install the new GM approved service replacement air conditioning O-rings to the following disassembled components (except when the new O-rings are provided with the new components):

   • A joint
   • A fitting
Even though an O-ring may look the same, ensure that you use only the recommended service replacement O-rings. Excessive leakage of refrigerant may occur.

Always lubricate the O-ring using 525 viscosity refrigerant mineral oil. Slip the O-ring onto the flange tube in order to ensure the following conditions:

   • Proper locating
   • Proper sealing
Do not lubricate the O-rings using PAG refrigerant oil in order to prevent the following conditions:
   • Swelling
   • A reduction in sealing effectiveness
Prior to installation, verify that the O-rings and the fittings are not in the following condition:
   • Nicked
   • Deformed
Replace the O-rings or fittings that are in the following condition:
   • Nicked
   • Deformed
Failure to use the following service requirements may result in excessive refrigerant-leakage:
   • The proper service replacement parts
   • The proper service replacement procedures
