Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Open the rear compartment.
  2. Disconnect the rear compartment lamp connector.
  3. Use a DMM in order to measure the resistance between terminal C of the rear compartment connector and ground.

Is the resistance measured within the specified range?

0-2 ohms

Go to Step 2

Connect a test lamp between terminal B of the rear compartment lamp connector and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 150 between the rear compartment lamp and ground G304. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the rear compartment lamp/switch assembly.

Repair the open or short condition in CKT 1732. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
