Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Remove the scan tool from the data link connector (DLC).
  2. Disconnect the powertrain control module(PCM).
  3. Test for an open or short to ground in the power circuit(s) to the PCM.

Test for an open in the ground circuit(s) to the PCM.

Test for an open, short to ground or short to battery between terminal 9 of the DLC and connector C1 terminal 14 of the PCM with a DMM.

Was a condition found and corrected?
