Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement Chevrolet

Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
3. Remove the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
5. Compress the retainers and pull rearward on the switch.

1. Install the switch into the cluster trim plate.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Install the instrument panel cluster trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
2. Remove the left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
3. Disconnect the electrical connector (2).
4. Disengage the retaining tabs to the IP.

1. Firmly press the switch (1) into place.

Ensure the unit is retained.

2. Connect the electrical connector (2).
3. Install the left sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
