- Inspect the shift forks, the shafts, and the levers for wear or damage. Replace these if the conditions exist.
- Measure the shift fork pad thickness. Replace the shift fork pad if the pad is thinner than the following specifications:

| • | Except reverse--7.5 mm (0.295 in) |
