Repair or replace the faulty drive axle joint. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Inner Joint and Boot Replacement or Wheel Drive Shaft Outer Joint and Boot Replacement in Wheel Drive Shafts.

Did the vibration stop?

Go to Step 5

1. Check for out of round tires. Refer to Tire and Wheel Inspection in Vibration Diagnosis and Correction.
2. Add air to or replace tires.

Go to Step 6

1. Check for tire unbalance. Refer to Tire and Wheel Balancing in Vibration Diagnosis and Correction.
2. Rotate or service tires.

Did the vibration stop?

System OK

Go to Step 7

Check for worn drive axle C/V joint.

Is the joint worn or damaged?

Repair or replace the C/V joint.

1. Check for correct drive axle trim height. Refer to Trim Height Specifications in Wheel Alignment.
2. Adjust trim height as necessary.
