Important: A short to ground will cause a open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

Inspect the cassette player for an obstruction, through the cassette door.

Is there an obstruction?

Go to Step  3

Go to Step  4

Notice: Improper removal may damage tape player.

1. Remove the obstruction.
2. Inspect and clean the following components:

•	The moving parts

•	The cassette head

3. You may use a cleaning cassette instead.

Does the test tape operate?

Remove the radio for repair.
