The remote control door lock receiver system
allows the driver to use a hand held transmitter in order to perform the following
actions:
• | Unlock the driver's door. |
• | Unlock all of the doors. |
• | Release the rear compartment lid. |
The range of the transmitter is approximately 7 m (23 ft).
If the transmitter range decreases below this distance the transmitter battery
may need replacement. Refer to
Transmitter Battery Replacement
. Ambient conditions and other operating parameters
may affect the maximum range of the transmitter.
Anonymous radio signal transmissions may create interference. This interference
may decrease the range of the transmitter or disable operation completely.
Attach the door lock key (oval head) to the ring on the transmitter in order
to use the key as necessary.
Using the transmitter to unlock the driver's door or rear compartment
lid turns on the interior lamps. The interior lamps remain on for approximately
40 seconds or until the ignition switch is moved to the RUN position.
This GM vehicle has door jamb switches on the front doors. A switch
that is mounted on the door handle controls the interior lamps. Four door
models use door jamb switches on the front and the rear doors. The door jamb
switches control the interior lamps when a rear door is open. The remote control
door lock receiver turns on the interior lamps when any of the following
buttons on the transmitter is pressed:
• | The REAR COMPARTMENT LID button |
Serial data is transmitted on a radio frequency carrier signal at 315 MHz.
The signal is transmitted from the transmitter to the remote control door
lock receiver when pressing one of the following buttons on the transmitter:
• | REAR COMPARTMENT LID RELEASE |
The transmitter is resistant to the following conditions:
• | Moderate temperature changes |
• | Most common household and automotive fluids |
The remote control door lock receiver is located in the left inner wheel
house panel of the luggage compartment. The following information appears
on the module:
• | The latest change level |
• | The Julian date code (4 digits) |
• | The manufacturing location |
