Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Disconnect the cruise control module connector.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  3. Measure the voltage between terminal F of the cruise control module harness connector and ground using a J 39200 Digital Multimeter (DMM).

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 2

Measure the voltage between terminal E and terminal F of the cruise control module harness connector using a J 39200 DMM.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in CKT 339 between the fuse block and the cruise control module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the cruise switch to the ON position.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal A of the cruise control module harness connector and ground using a J 39200 DMM.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in CKT 451 between the cruise control module and G110. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Press and hold the SET switch in the ON position.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal B of the cruise control module harness connector and ground with a using a J 39200 DMM.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 8

  1. Backprobe the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly connector C3 using a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal A and ground.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 10

  1. Backprobe the cruise control brake switch using a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal A and ground.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

  1. Press and hold the SET switch in the ON position.
  2. Backprobe the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly connector C3 using a J 39200 DMM.
  3. Measure the voltage between terminal B and ground.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

Backprobe the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly connector C3 using a J 39200 DMM. Measure the voltage between terminal D and ground.

Does the voltag equal the specified value?

Repair the open in CKT 339 between the fuse block and the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Backprobe the cruise control brake switch using a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal B and ground.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

Repair the open in CKT 439 between the fuse block and the cruise control brake switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 84 between the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly and the cruise control module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 397 between the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly and the cruise control module. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the turn/hazard headlamp switch assembly. Refer to Cruise Control Switch Replacement .

Observe the option content of the vehicle.

Inspect the cruise control brake switch for proper adjustment. If the adjustment is OK, replace the cruise control brake switch. Refer to Brake Release Switch Replacement .

  1. Backprobe the cruise control clutch switch using a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal A and ground.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

  1. Backprobe the cruise control clutch switch using a J 39200 DMM.
  2. Measure the voltage between terminal B and ground.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Repair the open in CKT 86 between the cruise control brake switch and the cruise control clutch switch. Refer to Wiring Repair in Wiring Systems.

Measure the voltage between terminal D of the cruise control module harness connector and ground using a J 39200 DMM.

Does the voltag equal the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 24

Inspect the cruise control clutch switch for proper adjustment. If the adjustment is OK, replace the cruise control clutch switch. Refer to Cruise Control Switch Replacement .

  1. Connect the scan tool to the vehicle.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Clear any DTCs.
  4. Command the PCM to Allow Cruise using the scan tool .
  5. Measure the voltage between terminal H of the cruise control module harness connector and B+ using a J 39200 DMM.

Does the voltage measured equal the specified value?

B+

Repair the open in CKT 420 between the cruise control brake switch (automatic transmission) or in CKT 379 between the cruise control brake switch (automatic transmission) and the cruise control module. Refer to Wiring Repair in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Raise and properly support the vehicle.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  3. Place the transmission in the NEUTRAL position. Slowly rotate the front wheels.
  4. Measure the voltage between terminal K of the cruise control module harness connector and ground using a J 39200 DMM.

Does the voltage vary?
