Removal Procedure

    Notice: Make sure to check adjustment of the door lock striker after door hinge adjustments are completed. Refer to Door Lock Striker Adjustment in this section.

    Notice: The following procedure is used if one hinge is removed and replaced one at a time. Refer to Door Replacement in this section in order to remove both upper and lower hinges.

  1. The door hinges are bolted to the door and the body hinge pillars.

  2. Object Number: 276404  Size: SH
  3. Support the door.
  4. Mark the hinge (3, 7) location.
  5. Remove the hinge-to-hinge pillar bolt and nut.

  6. Object Number: 276405  Size: SH
  7. Remove the hinge-to-door bolts (4, 6).
  8. Remove the door hinge.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the door hinge.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the door hinge bolts to the door.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).

  5. Install the door hinge bolt and the nut to the hinge pillar.
  6. Tighten

        • Tighten the bolt to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).
        • Tighten the nut to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).
