Heater Pipes Replacement 2.2L (LN2)
Removal Procedure
- Drain the engine coolant.
Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the air cleaner inlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
in Engine Controls -
2.2L.
- Reposition the ignition module. Refer to
Ignition Control Module Replacement
in Engine Controls -
2.2L.
- Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater pipe assembly.
- Remove the bolt and nut that retain the pipe to the engine.
- Remove the heater pipe assembly.
Installation Procedure
- Install the heater pipe
assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolt and nut in order to retain the pipe to the engine.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt and nut to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the heater hoses to the heater pipe assembly.
- Reposition and install the ignition control module. Refer to
Ignition Control Module Replacement
in Engine
Controls - 2.2L.
- Install the air inlet duct. Refer to
Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement
in Engine Controls -
2.2L.
- Refill the engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
in Engine Cooling.
