Temperature Control Cable Replacement Chevrolet

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 603652  Size: SH
  1. Remove the IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Disconnect the temperature control cable from the temperature door lever.
  3. Remove the cable clip retaining screw.

  4. Object Number: 603659  Size: SH
  5. Remove the HVAC control assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
  6. Remove the cable cover.
  7. Remove the cable clip from the HVAC control assembly.
  8. Remove the temperature control cable.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 603659  Size: SH
  1. Install the temperature control cable to the HVAC control assembly.
  2. Lock the cable clip to the HVAC control assembly.
  3. Install the cable cover.

  4. Object Number: 603652  Size: SH
  5. Install the cable to the temperature door lever.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the cable clip and screw to the HVAC module assembly.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  9. Install the HVAC control assembly. Refer to Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement .
  10. Install the IP trim plate. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 603652  Size: SH
  1. Remove the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Disconnect the temperature control cable from the temperature door lever.
  3. Remove the cable clip retaining screw.
  4. Remove the HVAC control assembly.

  6. Remove the cable cover.
  7. Remove the cable clip from the HVAC control assembly.
  8. Remove the temperature control cable.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the temperature control cable to the HVAC control assembly.
  2. Lock the cable clip to the HVAC control assembly.
  3. Install the cable cover.
  4. Install the HVAC control assembly.

  5. Object Number: 603652  Size: SH
  6. Install the cable to the temperature door lever.
