Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 791976 Size: SH
  1. Remove the clutch pedal position switch. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Switch Replacement .
  2. Remove the clutch engine brake switch, if equipped. Refer to Clutch Pedal Engine Start Switch Replacement .
  3. Remove the clutch cable retainer.
  4. Remove the clutch cable from the clutch pedal.
  5. From under the hood, remove the clutch pedal bracket nuts.

  6. Remove the clutch pedal bracket bolts.

    7. Object Number: 797587 Size: SH
  7. Remove the clutch engine brake switch bracket, if equipped.
  8. Remove the clutch pedal bracket.

    9. Object Number: 791978 Size: SH
  9. Remove the clutch pedal bolt (2), if required.
  10. Remove the clutch pedal (5), if required.
  11. Remove the clutch pedal bushings (3) and pivot spacer (6), if required.
  12. Remove the clutch pedal cover (4), if required.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 791978 Size: SH
  1. Install the clutch pedal cover (4), if required.

    2. Important: Lubricate the spacer with chassis grease. Do not lubricate the bushings or the pedal shift.

  2. Install the clutch pedal pivot spacer (6), and bushing (3), if required.
  3. Install the clutch pedal (5), if required.

    4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the clutch pedal bolt (2), if required.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch pedal bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Install the clutch pedal bracket.
  6. Install the clutch engine brake switch bracket, if equipped.

    7. Object Number: 791977 Size: SH
  7. Install the clutch pedal bracket bolts.

    8. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch pedal bracket bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. From under the hood, install the clutch pedal bracket nuts.

    9. Tighten
    Tighten the clutch pedal bracket nuts to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  9. Install the clutch cable to the clutch pedal.
  10. Install the clutch cable retainer.
  11. Install the clutch engine brake switch, if equipped. Refer to Clutch Pedal Engine Start Switch Replacement .
  12. Install the clutch pedal position switch. Refer to Clutch Pedal Position Switch Replacement .
