Removal Procedure
    • J 23128-A Seal and Seal Seat Remover
    • J 34614 Shaft Seal Protector
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to one of the following in Engine Mechanical:
    3. •  Drive Belt Replacement
    •  Drive Belt Replacement
    •  Drive Belt Replacement
  3. Remove the A/C clutch coil.
  4. Use the snap ring pliers in order to remove the A/C compressor shaft seal retainer ring.
  5. Install the J 23128-A in order to remove the A/C compressor shaft seal.

Installation Procedure
  1. Dip the new seal in clean 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.
  2. Install the A/C compressor shaft seal to J 23128-A .
  3. Install the J 34614 to the compressor shaft.
  4. Remove the J 23128-A and J 34614 .
  5. Use the snap ring pliers in order to install the A/C compressor shaft seal retainer ring.
  6. Install the A/C clutch coil.
  7. Install the drive belt. Refer to one of the following in Engine Mechanical:
    8. •  Drive Belt Replacement (5.7L)
    •  Drive Belt Replacement (6.5L)
    •  Drive Belt Replacement (7.4L)
  8. Evacuate, recharge and leak test the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
