1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Connect the scan tool.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
4. Select Display DTC Function using the scan tool.
5. Inspect for any stored ABS DTCs related to the brake warning indicator operation.

No DTCs are stored in memory or current status.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the scan tool from the data link connector.
3. Release the parking brake.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Do not start the engine.

The brake warning indicator remains OFF.

1. Start the vehicle.
2. Allow the engine to idle in PARK.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

The brake warning indicator remains OFF when the ignition switch is in the ON or the START position.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Release the parking brake.

The brake warning indicator remains ON only when the parking brake is set.
