Faulty coolant hoses

Replace the hoses as needed. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement .

Faulty drive belts

Replace the serpentine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

Faulty coolant hose clamps

Replace the clamps as needed. Refer to Radiator Hose Replacement .

Loose coolant drain plugs

Tighten the coolant drain plugs.

Leaking radiator core

Replace or repair the radiator core as needed. Refer to Radiator Support Replacement .

Leaking gaskets

Repair or replace the gaskets as needed.

Faulty surge tank cap

Replace the surge tank cap. Refer to Pressure Cap Description .

Improper belt tension

Check the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Diagnosis .

Restricted radiator

Repair the restriction as needed.

Blocked radiator grille

Repair the grille as needed.

Missing radiator shroud or baffles

Install the correct radiator shroud or baffles. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

Faulty water pump

Replace the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement .

Faulty cooling fan

Replace the fan. Refer to Fan Replacement .

Faulty fan clutch

Replace the fan clutch. Refer to Fan Clutch Replacement .

Plugged cooling system

Repair and flush the cooling system as needed. Refer to Flushing .

Faulty engine thermostat

Replace the thermostat. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement .

Incorrect engine thermostats

Install the correct thermostat. Refer to Thermostat Diagnosis .

Faulty surge tank

Repair or replace the surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement .

Leaking head gasket

Replace the head gasket. Refer to Cylinder Head Replacement .

Faulty engine coolant temperature sensor

Replace the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement .

Faulty or plugged oil cooler

Repair or replace the oil cooler as needed. Refer to Auxiliary Engine Oil Cooler Replacement .
