Install a new steering shaft or column if any of the following conditions are found:
| • | Check if the shaft rattles when struck lightly from the side. |
| • | Inspect the steering shaft for sheared injected plastic. |
| • | Inspect for any frame damage which could cause a bent steering shaft. |
