Tools Required

1. Discharge and remove the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the switch in the rear head of the compressor.
3. Remove the switch retaining ring using J 5403 .
4. Remove the switch from the compressor.
5. Remove the O-ring seal from the switch cavity using J 9553-01 .

Tools Required

J 5403 Snap Ring Pliers #21 Internal

1. Install the new O-ring seal, coated with refrigerant oil, into the groove in the switch cavity.
2. Install the switch in the cavity until the switch bottoms in the cavity. Lubricate the switch housing with refrigerant oil before installing.
3. Install the switch retaining ring using J 5403 .
4. Connect the electrical connector.
5. Add refrigerant to the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
