Inspect the LIGHTING fuse in the engine wiring harness junction block.

Is the LIGHTING fuse open?

Inspect and repair the source of the overload in CKT 42 (RED).

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Connect a test lamp from cavity J 7 of the LIGHTING fuse and ground.

Did the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

Repair the open in CKT 2 (RED) between the engine wiring harness junction block and the starter solenoid.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

1. Disconnect the headlamp connector(s).
2. Check the continuity in CKT 150 (BLK) between the cavity listed and ground:

•	Cavity A (single rectangular headlamps)

•	Cavity B (dual rectangular inner headlamps)

•	Cavity C (base and dual rectangular outer headlamps)

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

1 ohms

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the headlamp(s) and ground.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

1. Disconnect the headlamp connector(s).
2. Connect a test lamp between the cavity listed and ground:

•	Cavity A (dual rectangular inner headlamps)

•	Cavity B (base and dual rectangular outer headlamps)

•	Cavity C (single rectangular headlamps)

Did the test lamp illuminate?

--

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 9

Replace the headlamp(s)

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

1. Connect the headlamp connector(s)
2. Disconnect the headlamps switch connector.
3. Connect a test lamp between cavity C of the headlamps switch connector and ground.

Did the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

Repair the open in CKT 42 (RED) between the headlamps and the headlamps dimmer switch connector.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

1. Disconnect the headlamps dimmer switch connector.
2. Connect a test lamp between cavity E 13 of the headlamps dimmer switch connector and ground.

Did the test light illuminate?

--

Go to Step 15

Go to Step 12

Check the continuity in CKT 10 (YEL) between the headlamps switch and the headlamps dimmer switch.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

1 ohms

Go to Step 13

Go to Step 14

Locate and repair the open in CKT 10 (YEL) between the headlamps switch and the headlamps dimmer switch.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

--

Replace the headlamps switch.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

--

Connect a fused jumper between cavity  E 11 and cavity E 13 of the headlamps dimmer switch connector.

Do the headlamps illuminate?

--

Go to Step 16

Replace the headlamps dimmer switch. Refer to Multifunction Turn Signal Lever Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Check the continuity of CKT 11 (LT GRN) between the headlamps dimmer switch and the headlamp.

Is the resistance greater than the specified value?

1 ohms

Go to Step 18

Go to Step 16

Repair the open in CKT 11 (LT GRN) between the headlamps dimmer switch and the headlamp.

Is the repair complete?
