Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt from the engine. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Remove the upper radiator shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 71667  Size: SH
  4. Remove the fan clutch retaining nuts from the coolant pump pulley.
  5. Remove the fan and the clutch from the vehicle.

  6. Object Number: 160879  Size: SH
  7. Remove the retaining bolts from the fan and clutch.
  8. Separate the fan and clutch.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 160879  Size: SH
  1. Install the fan to the fan clutch.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the retaining bolts to the fan and clutch.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fan and clutch retaining bolts to 33 N·m (24 lb ft).

  5. Install the fan clutch to the vehicle.
  6. Install the fan clutch retaining nuts to the coolant pump pulley.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 57 N·m (42 lb ft).

  8. Install the upper radiator shroud. Refer to Fan Shroud Replacement .
  9. Install the drive belt to the engine. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
