Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 258707  Size: SH

    Notice: Do not clamp on master cylinder body. Doing so may damage the master cylinder.

  3. Clamp the flange of the master cylinder body in a vise.
  4. Remove the master cylinder reservoir.

  5. Object Number: 241627  Size: SH
  6. Clean the reservoir with clean denatured alcohol.
  7. Dry the reservoir with non-lubricated compressed air.
  8. Inspect the master cylinder reservoir for cracks or deformation. Replace the reservoir if damage is evident.

Installation Procedure

Caution: Brake fluid may irritate eyes and skin. In case of contact, take the following actions:

   • Eye contact--rinse thoroughly with water.
   • Skin contact--wash with soap and water.
   • If ingested--consult a physician immediately.

Notice: Avoid spilling brake fluid on any of the vehicle's painted surfaces, wiring, cables or electrical connectors. Brake fluid will damage paint and electrical connections. If any fluid is spilled on the vehicle, immediately flush the area with water to minimize the potential for damage.


    Object Number: 241627  Size: SH

    Important: Do not damage the reservoir or the master cylinder body.

  1. Install the master cylinder reservoir to the master cylinder body. Press straight down by hand into the master cylinder body.
  2. Install the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Replacement .
