Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 241029  Size: SH
  3. Remove the range selector facia trim screws.
  4. Disconnect the range selector park brake auto apply and back-up lights electrical connector.
  5. Remove the screws securing the range selector bracket to the range selector.
  6. Remove the light bulb holder.

  7. Object Number: 241031  Size: SH
  8. Remove the two nuts and the cable clamp securing the shift cable to the range selector.
  9. Remove the cotter pin securing the shift cable to the range selector.
  10. Remove the range selector.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 241031  Size: SH
  1. Install the range selector into position.
  2. Install the cotter pin in order to secure the shift cable to the range selector.
  3. Install the cable clamp and the two nuts in order to secure the shift cable to the range selector.

  4. Object Number: 241029  Size: SH
  5. Connect the range selector wiring harness connector.
  6. Install the screws in order to secure the range selector bracket to the range selector.
  7. Install the light bulb holder.
  8. Install the facia screws.
  9. Operate range selector shift lever and verify the correct function of transmission engagement, back-up lights, and auto-apply parking brake.
