Connect a test lamp from cavity C 7 of the STOP/HAZ fuse to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 142 (RED) between the engine wiring harness junction block and the fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Connect a test lamp from cavity J 12 of the BRAKE LAMPS fuse to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 5 (RED) between cavity K 11 and cavity P 7 in the engine wiring harness junction block .

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Remove the brake lamp relay from the engine wiring harness junction block (underhood fuse relay center).
  2. Connect a test lamp between cavity E 9 in the brake lamp relay connector and ground.
  3. Depress the brake pedal.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the stoplamps switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp from cavity B at the stoplamps switch connector to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in CKT 140 (ORN) between the fuse block and the stoplamps switch.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

  1. Replace the brake lamp relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between cavity A and B of the stoplamps switch connector

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open in CKT 17 (WHT) between the stoplamps switch and the brake lamp relay.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Remove the brake lamp relay from the engine wiring harness junction block.
  2. Connect a test lamp between cavity D 7 in the brake lamp relay connector and B +.

Does the test lamp operate?

Repair the open in CKT 150 (BLK) between the brake lamp relay and ground G 104.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp from cavity D 9 of the brake lamp relay connector to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in CKT 540 (ORN) between the brake lamp relay and the BRAKE LAMPS fuse.

  1. Replace the brake lamp relay with a known good relay.
  2. Depress the brake pedal.

  1. Disconnect the turn/hazard lamp switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp from cavity E 2 to ground.

Repair the open in CKT 20 (LT BLU) between the brake lamp relay and the turn/hazard lamp switch.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a test lamp from cavity E 6 or cavity E 7 to B +.

Repair the open in CKT 19 (DK GRN or CKT 18 (YEL) between the turn/hazard lamp switch and the stoplamps.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the turn/hazard lamp switch.

Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.
