Removal Procedure

  1. Release the parking brake.

  2. Object Number: 177621  Size: SH
  3. Remove the parking brake pedal to floor nuts (6) and washers (5).
  4. Remove the parking brake pedal to floor bolts (2) and washers (4).
  5. Remove the spacers (3).

  6. Object Number: 176261  Size: SH
  7. Remove the cotter pin (4) and the washer (5).
  8. Remove the clevis pin (7).
  9. Remove the cable to parking brake lever nut and washer.
  10. Remove the cable to parking brake lever bolts.
  11. Remove the spacer (1).
  12. Remove the cable (9).
  13. Remove the lever assembly (6).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 176261  Size: SH
  1. Install the lever assembly (6).
  2. Install the cable (9).
  3. Install the clevis pin (7).
  4. Install the washer (5) and the cotter pin (4).
  5. Install the spacer (1).
  6. Install the cable to parking brake lever bolt.
  7. Install the washer and cable to the parking brake lever nut.

  8. Object Number: 177621  Size: SH
  9. Install the spacers (3).
  10. Install the washer (4) and the parking brake pedal to floor bolts (2).
  11. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  12. Install the washers (5) and the parking brake pedal to floor nuts (6).
  13. Tighten

        • Tighten the parking brake to floor nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
        • Tighten the parking brake lever to cowl nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).
