  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor.
  3. Connect the red lead of J 33431-C to the engine oil pressure gauge sensor and the fuel pump switch connector.
  4. Connect the other lead of the tester to ground.
  5. Set the resistance dial to 0 ohms.
  6. Slowly move the resistance dial to 90 ohms.

Did the oil pressure gauge read 0 at first and slowly move until reading the full scale?

0 ohms-90 ohms

Replace the engine oil pressure gauge sensor and fuel pump switch.

  1. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector.
  2. Use a J 39200 DMM in order to measure the resistance between the instrument cluster connector, cavity 15 and ground.

Did the resistance measure greater than the specified value?

5.0 ohms

Repair the high resistance in CKT 31 (TAN) between the instrument cluster connector and the engine oil pressure gauge sensor and fuel pump switch connector.
