Park Lamps Inoperative - Front P72

Circuit Description

Voltage is supplied through the TAIL LPS fuse to the headlight switch at all times. With the headlight switch in "PARK" or "HEAD," voltage is supplied to the park, tail, sidemarker and license lights.

P72 Front Parking and Sidemarker Lamps Are Inoperative

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
  2. Move the headlamp switch to the park position.
  3. Observe the front park and sidemarker lamps.

Are the front park and sidemarker lamps on?

Probe the ORN (40) wire at the headlamp switch connector with a test lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Probe the BRN (9) wire at the headlamp switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Locate and repair the open circuit in the ORN (40) wire between the headlamp switch and the fuse block.

Is the repair complete?

Probe the BRN (9) wire at C271.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the headlamp switch.

Is the repair complete?

Locate and repair the open circuit in the BRN (9) wire between the headlamp switch and C271.

Is the repair complete?

Circuit Description

Voltage is supplied through a circuit breaker to the headlight switch at all times. With the headlight switch in "PARK" or "HEAD," voltage is supplied to the park, tail, sidemarker and license lights.
